K Celebration

Our Kindergarten students had a blast singing songs for their parents at their Kindergarten Celebration on Thursday, May 22nd! Everyone was dressed in their finest and especially excited to play their kazoos during the final song. Ms. Rayner would like to send a special thank you to the Kindergarten team for the beautiful vase and flowers!

The children at Pontiac had a blast participating in  the Boosterthon FUN RUN to raise money for our school.

Composting is Fun!

Third graders love composting!   This is our outside bin.  We compost left-overs from lunch, like banana peels, bread scraps and pizza crusts.  We also compost the teacher's coffee grinds!  Big earthworms live there and help with the decomposition.

Karyn Taylor, a 3rd grade teacher at Pontiac Elementary School, was awarded Honorable Mentions in this year’s contest. Mrs. Taylor, a leader for conservation at Pontiac Elementary School, is a member of the school’s Green Steps Team and coordinates school composting projects and education. She and her students also maintain a school garden and wildlife habitat. Mrs. Taylor will be recognized at the Richland SWCD’s Annual Banquet on May 13.  Way to go Mrs Taylor and class!!!
