Montessori Synergizes to Make Plarn Bed Rolls

Montessori student from ages 3 to fifth grade worked together with Sonoco to create plarn bed rolls. Each grade level worked on these at different stages. Our primary students folded the bags. Lower elementary cut the bags into strips. Upper elementary created "plarn" balls (plarn is plastic yarn created from the bag strips). Cardinal Newman partnered with us on this outreach project. In addition several community members from a local church helped crochet the yarn into the bed rolls. Today we presented the representative from Sonoco, Jane Hiller, with the mats we created. We will continue this partnership throughout this year.
