Dear Richland Two Families,
I would like to remind you that the Choice Application Process for 2017-2018 school year will close this Friday, January 27, 2017. Go to www.richland2.org/choice an
Through the Choice Program families can apply for magnet programs throughout the district or apply for Expanded Choice, which allows students to attend a school in the district that is not their zoned school. Remember, every school in Richland Two is a great choice and your zoned school is always a choice. You do not have to submit an application to attend your zoned school.
Please note: If your student is remaining at the magnet or Expanded Choice school they currently attend, it is not necessary to reapply for the 2017-2018 school year.
To apply for magnet programs and Expanded Choice, you must complete and submit an online application by 11:59 p.m., Friday night,January 27.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Your student can stay after school on Friday, January 27th and watch ¨Finding Dory.¨ This movie is rated PG for mild thematic elements. When reading a review it said, ¨Finding Dory's themes of teamwork, perseverance, family, friendship, and unconditional love are relatable for even the littlest kids.¨ The $10 will be used to fund a third grade field study. During the movie, we will have snacks and a drink. Students will need to be picked up at the front of the school at 5 PM. Please turn in the signed permission slip and the $10 cost to Mrs. Ryan, third grade teacher, room J11. Thanks so much.

Reminder: Expanded Choice/ Magnet Programs
Parents interested in submitting a choice application for a Richland School District Two magnet program or expanded choice option can access the online application site beginning Monday, Dec. 12 starting at 9 a.m.Applications must be submitted by midnight on January 27, 2017.
To help families learn more about choice options in Richland Two, included their zoned school, schools and centers are hosting information nights. These meetings are highly recommended for students changing schools, school levels, applying to magnet programs or students new to Richland Two. All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Richland 2 Choice Program
Although our students are assigned to schools based on their residential address, they may apply to a magnet school, a school with a magnet program or another school within the district through the Expanded Choice program. This program offers parents and students residing in Richland District Two the opportunity to request permission to attend a school other than their residentially assigned school. Parents may apply electronically each January or May for placement that will take effect the following school year.
