Understanding Others Day
Today is Understanding Others Day at Pontiac. "Seek first to understand then to be understood" Students got to explore in stations about sign language, hearing impairment and physical impairment while learning to appreciate differences. They learned how dogs are trained to assist people. And got to see a dog in action. Here are a few pictures:

Tuesday, Oct. 23rd: Wake Up Drug Free! Wear your pajamas.
Wednesday, Oct. 24th: Turn Your Back on Drugs! Wear your shirt backwards.
Thursday, Oct. 25th: Black out drugs! Wear black.
Friday, Oct. 26th:Team Up Against Drugs! Wear your favorite team colors or jersey.
Understanding Others Day
Next week is Understanding Others Day which is all about getting to know how people who are different than us can do the same things, even though it may look a little different. PAALS, which stands for Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services is coming to share about their program to Kindergarten-2nd graders. To help support this wonderful service, we are asking for donations for the following things:
- Paper Towels
- Trash bags
- Dog Toys
- Small milk bones
Normal Schedule tomorrow
Our schools and district offices will resume normal operating schedules on Friday, October 12. Schools will start at their normal times, and buses will run on their regular schedules. All before- and after-school activities will resume on their normal schedules as well.
District employees checked roads and campuses to make sure it is safe to resume a regular schedule tomorrow.
Again, all Richland Two schools and offices will resume normal schedules on Friday, October 12.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Richland School District Two is canceling school on Thursday, October 11, 2018. All schools and offices will be closed, and all school and district activities are canceled.
